All These Songs (Words Unwritten)
 by Matt Nicodemus, copyright 1989

All these songs, words unwritten.
Why has it been so?
Have I not cared to face the truth,
Fearing to know?

So many reasons
For this state of affairs.
No time, little patience, too busy
With a thousand pressing cares.

To finish this is to move on
Into something unknown.
New songs, new lovers,
And into being alone.
Alone, alone.
Being alone.

All these songs, words unwritten.
Maybe that's OK.
Because for you and me, so often,
Language gets in the way.

But here and now I feel compelled
To listen, to tell.
To sing what speaks in my heart,
Hard truths we know well.

Hard truths we didn't share,
Passion each didn't find.
Afraid of honesty, of losing love,
We left passion behind.
Behind, behind.
Left it behind.

I'm Comin' Over
by Matt Nicodemus, copyright 2001

I wanna tell you more, if you will listen.
I wanna see your eyes, see them glisten.
I'm hangin' up the phone, I'm comin' over,
Over to you, over to you.
Oh, it's been way too long since we have made love,
Made love the way we should, so rough and tender.
I'm walkin' out the door, I'm comin' over,
Over to you, over to you.

I'm comin' over to you.
I'm comin' over to you.

We've got so much inside.  Why do we hold back?
The best is when we share, then we are on track.
I'm gettin' in my car, I'm drivin' over,
Over to you, over to you.
When I remember times I've been your best friend.
It helps me keep the faith that we'll be back again.
I'm walkin' up your walk, I'm comin' over,
Over to you, over to you.

I'm comin' over to you.
I'm comin' over to you.

Instrumental

I know we've got the phone, we use it daily.
But there you are, alone, no one to hold you.
I'm climbin' up the stairs, I'm comin' over,
Over to you, over to you.
Hey!  There's been a change of plans, this is a new day.
I'm takin' chances now to write a new play.
I'm openin' up your door, I'm comin' over,
Over to you, over to you.

I'm comin' over to you.
I'm comin' over to you.

(repeat chorus to end)

A Song to My Lover

(and to the stranger in the elevator with me when the nuclear warhead explodes)
 by Matt Nicodemus, copyright 1985

If this were the last time I'd ever see you.
If death or distance were certainty,
I'd be all my love for you

Instrumental

This may be the last time I'll ever see you.
Who knows what may happen?  Few of us do.
So I'll be all my love for you.
I am all my love for you.
